Foreign business ownership
Own and control 100% of your company as a foreign entity.
Macau allows full foreign ownership of a limited liability company (LDA). There are no restrictions on foreign individuals or entities being shareholders or directors, and there is no local residency requirement. You can be the sole director and shareholder of your Macau company. The minimum share capital for an LDA is MOP 25,000 (around USD 3,100), and the company can be managed from overseas. While Macau previously had an offshore regime, it was abolished in 2021; however, companies can still conduct international business under the standard regime.
Company registration process
Simple steps to start your new business.

1. Application of admissibility of trade name
2. Memorandum and articles of association
3. Registry of the company
4. Declaration of commencement of operation
5. Opening a corporate bank account
6. Securing work visa
- Employment Authorization from the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL)
- Authorization to Stay from the Residence and Stay Affairs Department
- Even nationals from visa-exempt countries (76 jurisdictions) must secure a work permit and employment visa before commencing work. The process typically takes 45–65 days and must be completed in person or via a legal representative.
